A perspective-twisting sci-fi adventure about two kids separated by opposite gravities. One day, Patema "falls" from her undergound world to the wide-open world above ground and continues to fall into the sky. She is saved when she manages to cling on to a boy named Eiji who lives above ground. The two children, with opposite gravitational forces, support each other upside-down and learn about each other's worlds in the post-catastrophe era. In doing so, they discover the secret that keeps their worlds apart.
