About the Playwright

Leah Plante-Wiener is a Brooklyn-based theatre artist originally from Montreal. Recent works include Gutbelly (Columbia, the Vino Theatre), the electrologist (CATCH Performance Series, the Tank), watching you watching me watching you (the Tank), Warm Science (the Brick), and an adaptation of The Threepenny Opera (Columbia). Leah’s plays have also been selected for the Road Theatre’s Summer Playwrights Festival, the Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Short Play Festival, and the American Theatre Fresh Ink reading series. She has additionally participated in the Sewanee Writers’ Conference and the La MaMa Umbria Playwrights’ Retreat. leahpwrites.com // @leah.annia

About the New Plays Festival

Columbia University School of the Arts presents a festival of new plays written by the 2025 Columbia MFA Playwriting Cohort. The esteemed faculty who nurtured these students, including Tony©, Pulitzer, and Obie Award winners, such as Lynn Nottage, Rogelio Martinez, Blair Singer, Noelle Vinas, Charles L. Mee, Michael Korie, David Auburn, and David Henry Hwang invite everyone to experience these innovative new playwrights.
